Lucky enough not to have heard about the Black Friday? On the morrow of Thanksgiving, the world’s biggest selling businesses sell their products at ludicrously low discounted prices. Customers get into a compulsive craze for buying, not long before Christmas time, and the planet pays the bill… That Black Friday very literally is a black Friday for climate and biodiversity.
Let’s fight back with a Climate Friday. Let’s unite our voices to push forward change. Practically, what can we do?
Associations like Zero Waste France, Boycott citoyen or I-Boycott are organizing events all across France, along us, to alert people against the dangers of overconsuming.
Join us on for a festive event that will be joyful and open to all.
On the agenda (choose in the list following your inspiration):
– A village of alternative solutions
– A “gratiferia”: a free market to learn, or re-learn, different ways to consume
– A disco soup: a musical party where a giant soup will be collectively prepared with the perfectly good food wasted by being thrown away by markets or supermarkets
– Actions in superstores : condemn the abusive use of plastics by leaving all superfluous packaging on site (“plastic attacks”)
But also:
– A worlwide boycott of Amazon and other online stores like CDiscount, launched by Boycott Citoyen, I-Boycott, and the Friends of the Earth
– An anti-advertisement rebellion action, implemented by the French organization RAP (Résistance à l’Agression Publicitaire)
An appeal to political deciders through the United4Earth citizen lobbying platform
Soon it will be too late. But now it is still possible to change a lot of things. By joining us, you may act to fight climate change. The future of the planet, your future, the future of our descendants, depend upon the fights that we are fighting today.

🌍By the way, what is the movement Citizens for Climate #ilestencoretemps?
We are a non-violent movement of citizens.
We are autonomous, self-managed, and we do not depend
on any political party, church, or organization.
We are engaged in the fight against climate change.
Our movement was born in France on the 8th of September 2018
When the French minister of environment, Nicolas Hulot, resigned, saying he did not receive serious support for the momentous changes that were necessary given the high stakes, 130000 citizens spontaneously went down in the streets to demonstrate.
On the 13th of October, people demonstrated again, this time in 86 cities across France and other countries, to claim that climate change be given first priority.
🌍What are we fighting for?
We are protesting against the “small steps policy” implemented by our government and by practically all others across the world. The IPCC has warned that humankind needs to take urgent and momentous action. If it doesn’t, it faces nothing less than a threat of extinction.
🌍What do we demand?
We want to push forward change. We want to remind everybody that our planet’s future is not negociable. On the contrary, it should be the first priority of the political, and economical leaders and of the civil society.

🌍Au fait, qu’est-ce que le mouvement Citoyens pour le Climat #ilestencoretemps ?
Un mouvement citoyen autonome et auto-géré, non violent, apartisan, engagé dans la lutte contre le réchauffement climatique.
Né le 8 septembre 2018 suite à la démission de Nicolas Hulot, il a rassemblé 130 000 personnes pour une première marche, puis le 13 octobre, 86 villes françaises et étrangères sont à nouveau descendues dans la rue pour le climat.
🌍Que dénonçons-nous ?
La politique des petits pas menée par notre gouvernement, comme par tous les dirigeant·e·s politiques internationaux. Le GIEC l’a démontré, à ce rythme-là, nous courrons à notre perte.
🌍Que voulons-nous ?
Impulser le changement, rappeler à tous que l’avenir de notre planète n’est pas négociable, et que cela devrait même être la priorité du monde politique, économique et civil.
